Working with The South Downs National Park Authority, HCCH offered discounts of 50% to hirers arriving by public transport while SDNPA gave travellers at Hassocks Station snacks, drinks and massages courtesy of Patrick Harding and Sports Massage Brighton.

Toby Wilsdon of the community run business said: “Reaction has been very positive with people supportive both of us as a local bike project and of the wider aim of encouraging sustainable transport in the park. It’s a perfect time to visit the South Downs in all their glory. Of course, we favour cycling but there are some fantastic walks around Hassocks too.”

Nick Heasman, Western Downs Manager for the South Downs National Park said:“Ditching the car leaves you to appreciate the stunning views from the train or bus, forget parking woes and even finish your afternoon with a real ale or chilled glass of wine.”

The South Downs National Park’s “Discover Another Way” promotion continues to the end of the month with the opportunity to win £300 in an instagram photography competition and Hassocks Community Cycle Hire offering 20% discounts to those presenting valid train or bus tickets.
