Army scholarship success

Cranleigh School Pupil Ben Strickland was awarded a prestigious Army Scholarship at the School’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Biennial Inspection Parade. Candidates are assessed on leadership fitness, mental ability, map reading and many other disciplines. This gives them a bursary during their studies at university and a guaranteed place at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst to attend the Officer Training Course. Major Simon Young, Contingent Commander, Cranleigh School CCF, said: “These scholarships are highly competitive with several hundred cadets applying for each place. We are hugely proud of what he has achieved and wish Ben all the very best in the future when he moves on to become an infantry Officer.” Report and picture contributed by Cranleigh School.
