Last year the event attracted guests of all ages dressed in fabulous fashions of the era.

It is hoped that this year’s event will again attract a broad audience who will be treated to a wonderful afternoon of 40’s & 50’s music and delightful afternoon tea served on vintage china by local events company ‘Splendid Occasion’s’. Dance tunes will be provided by The Legionnaires Dance Band and special guest Kerry le Bern otherwise known as ‘The Lady Sings’ will also be performing songs from the era’s.

Angie De Ath, Community Fundraiser for the Charity said: “Last year the Tea Dance raised £1200 for the charity’s work in the local community and we hope to surpass this with 2015 being a sell-out year !”

The event is being organised by volunteers Dee Child and Sue Noye with many other helpers, along with the charity’s fundraiser Angie De Ath who thanked the Horsham Business community for their support

Angie added: “Dark Star Foundation, the charitable arm of the Partridge Green brewery have provided funds to cover the majority of the costs of the Tea Dance and we are very grateful to them for enabling us to run this popular event. Other local businesses have supported by donating raffle prizes or their services for free, and our thanks go to Splendid Occasions, Kerry Le Bern, Pretty Things Tea room who are selling tickets on our behalf, Danny Rancic our designer, JR Print and Leaders along with many others.”

Tickets are on sale now at Pretty Things Tea room in Horsham at Age UK Horsham District, Lavinia House Reception (8.30am – 1.30 pm Mon – Fri), or by phoning 01403 260560.

The money raised by the event will go towards funding the free services Age UK Horsham District offer across the district in response to the ageing population and to tackle social isolation. For example, the charity’s Information & Advice service unlocked well over £1million in unclaimed benefits for the older people of Horsham District last year to help them remain independent. This service alone costs £55,000 to provide last year and relies on fundraising and donations to continue.

If you would like to make a donation or help the charity fundraise please contact Angie De Ath on 01403 751329 or [email protected]
