Open day in Chichester for free mental health courses

An open day to find out more about the spring term of free, innovative courses for people with mental health challenges takes place in January.

Sussex Recovery College runs adult courses from February 2016, offering a range of subjects around mental health and wellbeing, including Introduction to Mindfulness, Food and Mood and Speaking Up for Yourself.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is working with a number of partners to deliver the Sussex Recovery College.

The clinician and peer-led courses are designed to allow students to become experts in their self-care and recovery through education and learning.

Courses are also open to carers and relatives, the staff of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and partner organisations.

People can find out more at the open day on Thursday, January 14, in the Assembly Room at the Chichester City Council building from 12pm – 3pm.

Rob Cooper, Sussex Recovery College Service Manager, said, “The aim of Recovery College is to help enable people to manage their own mental health and wellbeing through increasing their knowledge and skills.
