Newsreader becomes hospice patron

BBC TV newsreader Nicholas Owen has become a patron of St Catherine’s Hospice in the charity’s 30th anniversary year.

He will show his official support at events and functions as well as helping to promote the hospice’s work. Nicholas said: “For me, it’s hard to think of a local cause that is more important than a hospice. To know that you can help locally with providing the sort of specialist care, the fantastic care, that St Catherine’s offers, both in the hospice and in people’s homes; that is such an important cause.”
