New Year’s Day fires in Broadfield

THREE fires in Broadfield, two of which are believed to be arson, damaged vehicles and furniture on New Year’s Day.

The first was just before 3am at Flamsteed Heights when two motorbikes and a wheelie bin were destroyed by arsonists.

There was also slight damage to plastic cladding on a house.

In another arson attack, a car was set alight at about the same time in Jackson Road.

The third blaze, not flagged up as deliberate, was at Pankhurst Court, Terry Road, at 6am which damaged a small amount of furniture.

This fire was out when the emergency services arrived.
