A new Community Land Trust has been formed to build flats and houses for residents in the village. The properties will then be held in perpetuity to provide more affordable homes for future generations.

The new trust says it plans to work closely with Pulborough Parish Council to identify suitable building sites. The trust has also applied for the first stage of Government funding to start work.

A trust spokesman said: “There has been wide support for the formation of Pulborough Community Land Trust, not only from the parish council and local residents, but also from district and county councillors, as well as from Horsham District Council since this will be the first Community Land Trust to be active in Horsham district.”

Trust secretary Stephen Pegler added: “Our first aim will be to attract local members, who are interested in affordable housing or who have skills or interests to offer as a volunteer.

“We will have an information stand at the Pulborough Village Fair on September 22 to answer questions and sign up new members - so invite everyone who is interested to come along and talk to us.
