CUSTODIANS are desperately needed at the Marlipins Museum in Shoreham.
Liza McKinney, Friends of Marlipins Museum treasurer, is appealing for help during the season, from May 1 to October 31.
She said: “Your museum needs you! I am appealing to anyone who has recently retired or could spare just three hours a week or a fortnight to be a custodian to help keep our lovely Marlipins Museum in Shoreham High Street open.
The 12th century building is believed to be the oldest secular building in Sussex. The museum is owned by the Sussex Archaeological Society and mainly manned by the Friends.
“Custodians are really desperately needed and may I say it is fun, you are among a very friendly bunch of people and you also have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of visitors from abroad, as well from various parts of the British Isles.”
No training is required and support is available from long-standing members of the team.
Sessions are from 10.30am to 1.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
Mrs McKinney said: “In fact anyone who could do a Friday morning or afternoon, Saturday afternoon, or a Wednesday morning would be doubly welcome. It would be great to start now.”
