Men threaten teenage boy with bottle

A TEENAGE boy was threatened with a bottle while walking along Broadwater Road, Worthing, on Thursday.

At about 5.30pm, the 16-year-old was walking near to Northbrook College, when he was approached by two young men and a woman who asked him for cigarettes.

The boy said he had none and continued on to a shop. When he returned he was approached for a second time by the two men who again demanded cigarettes and money, and threatened him with a bottle.

He kept walking and was unhurt, but was very shaken by the incident. All those who accosted him were aged about 18, and one man wore a blue-and-white bandana on his head.

The boy told police that while the incident was occurring three other people walked past. Officers are keen to speak to this trio in case they can help with their enquiries.

They would also like to hear from anyone else who may have seen what happened or who may have information about the two men and woman involved.
