Catherine Carver, proprietor of Drungewick Boarding Kennels in Loxwood, was inspired to join Weight Watchers after seeing some photos of herself at a friend’s wedding and kick-started her weight loss journey in May 2015.

She said: “My children had got older, and I wanted a bit of my own life back.

“I was fed up with being forced to wear clothes that weren’t to my taste, and really wanted to be able to shop on the high street.

“I’d tried so many diets in the past, but Weight Watchers was different; it wasn’t a diet, it was a lifestyle.”

Now, she is bringing the Weight Watchers programme to those in Billinghurst and Pulborough.

Commenting on the launch of the new meetings, Weight Watchers coach Catherine said: “Weight Watchers helped me to reach my goal weight by guiding me towards healthy and nutritious food choices, and inspiring me to increase my fitness levels, so I’m excited to be able to share this with new and existing members in Billingshurst and Pulborough with the launch of brand new groups.”

Catherine’s coach Dawn Ford runs meetings at Billinghurst Community and Conference Centre on Tuesdays at 5.15pm and 6.15pm, and said the following about the news: “Catherine is such an inspiration.

“She has changed her life in so many ways – all of those small changes she made resulted in a huge success.

“She brings so much to her meeting with her knowledge and support from others. She will be a great coach.”

Weight Watchers was set up in New York in 1963. They use a science driven approach to help participants lose weight and now operate in around 30 countries.

The Weight Watchers Flex builds on the highly successful and effective SmartPoints system.

The programme gives people more freedom to enjoy food by expanding zero points foods to a list of more than 200 delicious, satisfying foods.

As always with Weight Watchers, no food or drink is off limits.

Members have the freedom to eat many more foods without tracking or measuring.

These foods include eggs, all fresh fish and seafood, skinless chicken and turkey breast, fat free plain yogurt, beans, peas, sweet corn, lentils and tofu.

For even more flexibility, up to four unused SmartPoints a day will be rolled over into a member’s weekly bank to use as they wish.

Catherine will be holding morning sessions on Fridays at St Mary’s Church Hall, East Street, Billinghurst, RH14 9PY at 9:30am.

Additionally, Catherine will be running an evening session, also on Fridays, at 5:30pm.
