Local community activities are fully EXPOsed

There’s no excuse to be bored in Pulborough as the clubs, societies, teams and associations covering the village are displaying their wares in the village hall on Saturday June 1. Everyone who lives in the Pulborough area is invited to come along to learn what is happening on their doorstep and find something new to do. Forty organisations are taking part in the event which has been billed ‘EXPO Pulborough’ and will take up all the rooms in the hall. Ranging from fitness to floristry, bowls to the Baptist church, railways and canals to the Scouts and the Lions there should be something for everyone and entry is free.

Organiser David Hurst said: “The Pulborough Community Partnership has heard from many quarters that there should be more village events so we put this idea together with assistance from the trustees of the village hall and the parish council.

“There are lots of groups doing things in Pulborough but it’s not always that easy for people to find out about them. We are a very spread out village with no defined centre and many people don’t stray out of their own habitual routes. This event provides an opportunity for everyone to come together under one roof and see how much actually happens in this community. We hope it will provide inspiration and interest for both the clubs and the visitors.”

The organisers are also producing a Pulborough Community Directory which will be available to visitors on the day and can also be found online at www.pulborough.org.

The village hall is at the bottom of Swan View, off Lower Street in Pulborough, overlooking the Wildbrooks, and the event, which is free to enter, will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.

Organisations who are not exhibiting but would like to include their details in the Pulborough Community Directory should email [email protected].
