Leak in Lindfield leaves 52 houses without water

South East Water’s Distribution Manager Don Knight said: “We were alerted to a suspected leak in Newton Road, Lindfield, by a member of the public just before 6.30am this morning (Tuesday, 15th April).

“Our technicians were sent to the scene immediately and isolated the problem.

“Currently, 52 properties are without water and we have supplied bottled water the affected customers.”

The leak comes two days before the scheduled reopening of the upper end of the High Street and Ardingly Road, which South East Water closed to enable the installation of the new £1 million water main.

Mr Knight added: “Our contractor is on site and we hope to have supplies restored as soon as possible.

“We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience this has caused.”
