Kashy will move to Hong Kong to perform

SINGER Kashy Keegan will move to Hong Kong next month to pursue his dream of becoming a popstar.

The 30-year-old, who is originally from Worthing, beat Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to top the charts in October after advertising executives in Hong Kong heard his song ‘This is My Dream’ while searching for music for a new campaign.

Kashy was then invited to perform the track outside Hong Kong’s central Government offices in front of 30,000 fans and the single soared to the top of the iTunes charts.

The journalist has since staged his own concert including 17 original songs to 600 people.

He said: “The concert was incredible, I have waited my whole life for an opportunity like that and it was another dream come true for me.

“I am extremely grateful for the success of my song but it was important for me to show that I have more than just one song

“Performing over there is like a popstar experience complete with autograph sessions at the end.

“This whole thing has been completely surreal.”

When Kashy returned home he could not settle.

“I could not focus on anything so I thought I would go to Hong Kong full time,” he said. “We live in such changing times especially in cities and people move on very quickly so I want to capitalise on my success so far.

“I am releasing a new single as I believe that the market in Hong Kong suits my inspirational ballad style.”
