Darrell Hardy will be opening the Gloucester Road ramp to jet skiers at weekends and on Bank Holidays from this Saturday, April 30.

The operator stepped in after Bognor Regis Town Council announced it would be unable to fund the operation of the ramp this year, Arun District Council said.

Councillor Dudley Wensley, cabinet member for corporate governance and deputy leader at Arun District Council, said: “Arun District Council is delighted to have agreed to the management of the ramp by Mr Hardy for the 2016 season and that its operation will be at no cost to the local council taxpayers.

“This is a commercial venture by Mr Hardy and I hope that users will support it this summer to make it a financial success.”

Mr Hardy said: “I’m really pleased to be running the ramp again this season to allow water-sports enthusiasts to enjoy the water. The buoys are out ready for the ramp to open on Saturday – hopefully the sun will come out too!”

Launch charges are £20 for a day launch and £150 for the season. More details can be found on the Facebook page Bognor Regis Jetski n Boat Ramp or by calling 07973 839379.
