Huge waiting time for hearing sufferers

People with hearing loss in West Sussex are hacing to wait almost two years to get an appointment to have a hearing aid fitted.

Figures from the Britsh Society of Hearing Aid Audioloists show that patients at Worthing Hospital's audiology department have been waiting 95 weeks- the national average is 47 weeks.

MPs Tim Loughton ( East Worthing and Shoreham) and Peter Bottomley ( West Worthing) have now written to health chiefs at Adur, Arun and Worthing Primary Care Trusts demanding a meeting to discuss the situation.
