Hospice funds grow by nearly £1,000 after garden party

People who supported a garden party in Burgess Hill helped raise nearly £1,000 for hospice patients.

The final amount raised at the Victoria Close Garden Party was £840, organisers John and Chris Bushell have reported.

The money was raised by plant sales, a tombola, sales of refreshments inluding lunches and sales of artciles such as jam.John and Chris hold the event regularly in their back garden at Victoria Close to raise money for the St Peter and St Jamhospice near Wiveslfield Green in their back garden at Victoria Close.

This year the day was blessed with decent weather and attracted a good number of supporters, some of them regular visitors. The hospice relies heavily on fund raising to meet its running costs.
