A public collection bin for the otherwise local landfill or incinerator-destined refuse is now in place in Crawley Road, Horsham, with two pence donated to William Peen Primary School in Coolham per unit waste packaging collected.

The bin is maintained by Sussex Green Living, a voluntary community initiative, who will send the packaging to be recycled into a variety of generic plastic products.

The local green network was founded by Carrie Cort, marketing director of a Horsham video production company, Take One Productions, who is administrating the JOHNSON’S Baby recycling initiative.

She said: “We are delighted to act as one of the UK’s first public drop off locations for the JOHNSON’S Baby Wipes Packaging Brigade.

“Sussex Green Living already collected on the JOHNSON’S® Baby Wipes Packaging Brigade but this new public access collection point means the local community can help us save a far greater amount of baby wipes packaging from local landfill and raise more money for the William Penn School.

“So we encourage local people to drop off their used baby wipes packaging to the collection bin and tell their family and friends with children to do the same.”

The public access collection box is available 24 hours a day and is in the car park of Take One Productions at 154 -156 Crawley Road in Horsham.
