Fleig was unhurt following the collision but Mr Awcock, of Parklands Road, Hassocks, died from his injuries at the scene.

Sergeant Paul Jones, Sussex Road Policing Unit, said: "This case highlights the dangers of driving on the road while either being tired or allowing yourself to be distracted. People do not think that it will happen to them - but tragically it can. I urge everyone, regardless of their driving experience, to periodically remind themselves that if they allow their concentration to wane the result can easily be a tragic loss of life, as in this case."
