The Horsham drinkers were among others across 21 different Brewhouse pubs taking part in the challenge. Altogether, 1,264 people sampled three of Brewhouse and Kitchen’s craft beers at the same time.

They were overseen by Guinness World Records’ adjudicators who surveyed the pubs taking part across the nation.

For the past few weeks, the independent pub chain has been calling on craft beer fans to support them in their world record attempt.

Co-founder of Brewhouse and Kitchen Kris Gumbrell said: “We are incredibly proud and humbled by the support from all the local communities that make each and every Brewhouse & Kitchen venue special.

“The teams at Brewhouse & Kitchen pride themselves on creating a welcoming and friendly hub for the communities they serve and we couldn’t have set this record without the support from local people.

“Beer is the world’s favourite alcoholic drink and for us to break a world record by enjoying some great beer is a wonderful feeling.

“This is a world record not just for Brewhouse & Kitchen but for all who took part. We couldn’t be prouder.”
