AN infant school held a special day for grandparents to visit last month.

Sarah Marchant, finance support assistant at Lyndhurst School, said: “Grandparents are important to children in so many ways - they have wisdom to share, stories to tell and interesting games to play!

“They also connect us to the values and histories of our families and communities.

“The children took their grandparents for a tour of the school, had refreshments in the hall and spent time completing activities.

“A great day was had by all!”

One visiting grandparent said: “All the children really enjoyed showing their grandparents around – they are obviously very happy here, which is lovely to see and gives them a good start to their education. Well done!”

Another grandparent commented: “We very much appreciated the chance to see the school and impressed with the atmosphere and positive development opportunities for the children.”
