YOUNG people are invited to a Games Day at Shoreham charity Esteem.
Shoreham Allstars are joining the charity, which provides a platform for young people to help themselves, to host the Games Day on Saturday, 4pm to 8pm.
The aim is to promote The Drop-In, new bi-weekly sessions which were awarded £3,000 from Adur Pot of Gold recently. The sessions, which will be run on two evenings a week, will offer people aged 16 to 26 support on issues like health and wellbeing, cooking, sexual and mental health issues, as well as training sessions, activities and mentoring.
There has already been a test cookery session, which involved young people making a curry. It was developed following a survey of young people, asking them what services they would like.
Co-ordinator Jon Rist said: “We are a Shoreham-based charity that empowers young people who are out of work and education through inspiring personal and career development opportunities.
“Esteem’s vision is a world where young people feel confident and empowered and have equal access to education, employment and training.”
The Games Day, at the Old School House, Ham Road, Shoreham, will offer a variety of consoles and projected screens. Entry will be £2. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01903 854987.
