Participants raised more than £10,000 towards the charity’s ‘Building a Home to Remember’ appeal for a new 60 bed specialist dementia care home.

Entrants could choose to either walk or jog a five or 10 kilometre route along the seafront.

Guild Care fundraising manager, Rachael Duke said: “We have got over 200 walkers. It’s just been fantastic to have so many people here today. It will set us off on the way to reaching our £500,000 target for the appeal. The new home will offer support for people at each stage of the disease.”
