Funding for emergency group

FUNDING to help train volunteers who provide a quick response to life-threatening emergency calls has been provided by proceeds raised at the Broadwater Carnival.

Worthing and District First Responders have received a cheque for £1,000 from the carnival’s fundraising society. The money was presented by carnival prince and princess Hannah Vince, aged eight, and Kai Fairham, seven, at Worthing Fire Station.

First Responders trainer Tony Beldam told the group the much-appreciated funds would be put towards the purchase of a kit for one of the training of new volunteers.

The volunteers work alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and was set up in 2006.
