Team members of the newly established Southwater Stormers FC, did a 5mile fun run and managed to raise £500.
Eleven of the boys asked friends and family to sponsor them so that they could help their club buy new equipment and kit.
The boys ran along downs link and finished the day with a parents v players match, which finished 5-3 to the players.
Team manager, David Mills, said: “it has been a great day, with all of the boys coming together as a team, not only have they raised money for new equipment but they had a real sense of camaraderie, cheering each other on, as they passed finish line”.
The boys are hoping to continue raising money for the team and are pulling together to come up with new ways of doing this.
