One of Crawley’s four adventure playgrounds will be welcoming families to an open day filled with games, activities, music and special guests.

Waterlea Adventure Playground in Furnace Green is holding an open day on Sunday October 6 from 12noon to 4pm.

Parents and children can see what the site has to offer and take part in a number of exciting activities. There will be bouncy castles, a barbeque, music and games which all the family can join in with.

There will also be a special visit from the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and stories from local storyteller Mark Bedford.

Young Leaders from Circuswurx Juniors will be offering circus skills sessions for promising performers giving tuition in juggling and unicycling.

Admission is £2, free for those under the age of three, and there is a small cost for the bouncy castles and barbeque.

Cllr Duncan Crow, cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: “We are proud to offer four unique adventure playgrounds in Crawley, which each offer a range of outdoor and indoor activities.

“The Waterlea open day will give families an excellent chance to see what the playground has to offer as well as have a fun-filled family afternoon.”

Waterlea will also host a Big Draw event on Wednesday October 20. From 12noon to 4pm families are invited to create cartoon characters to adorn the inside walls of the indoor area. A range of seasonal activities will also be available.

Crawley Play Service is now taking bookings for the October half term Play Care scheme at Waterlea and Cherry Lane adventure playgrounds. A fun-filled week of spooky activities awaits for children aged five to 12 years old from Monday October 28 to Friday November 1.

Our popular open access play sessions will also take place every day during half term across all four adventure playgrounds. Children can come and play, free of charge, from 11.30am to 4pm.
