Farm may become home for learning disabled

A DILAPIDATED farm in Washington will be transformed into one of the UK's first shared ownership schemes for people with profound learning disabilities- if remaining funding can be found.

East Clayton Farm, located on the A293 about a quarter of a mile from Washington roundabout, is to be redeveloped as eight high quality independent living units by Sussex-based charity, the Lorica Trust.

Each flat will overlook a central courtyard and have its own private entrance. The project will also establish a new community interest company called MiLife to deliver the care and support that the residents will need to help them live life to the full.
