FIVE generations of the same family came together to celebrate the birth of the newest addition.
Joanna Pond held a party to mark the first meeting of her granddaughter and her grandmother.
Joyce Fenwick, 84, travelled from Swindon to see her great-great granddaughter Freya Olivia Pond, who was born on June 6.
She was joined by her daughter Pauline Stone, 66, of Church Street Worthing, granddaughter Mrs Pond, 43, of Navarino Road, Worthing, and great granddaughter Alice Pond, 22, from Lancing.
Mrs Pond said: “I think it is quite rare and very special to have five generations of girls. My Nan had six children, my mum had two and I have had two, so there are quite a few of us. It was lovely to celebrate last week.
“Nan is 84 and very frail, she had to wait three weeks to meet her great-great granddaughter so she was over the moon.
“She was so excited to see Freya Olivia and for everyone to be together.
“You have to make the most of family. It is a lot of people to get together but we do our best. I go to Swindon to see Nan at least three times a year.”
