World and local issues raised during Horsham Climate March

A small but dedicated group delivered a clear message about everyone’s part in protecting the planet, during today’s (Sunday November 29) Horsham Climate March.

They set off from the Bandstand in Horsham Park at noon, armed with banners and flags.

Their route took them to Gough House, in Madeira Drive, the Horsham Conservative Association HQ where, after a speech, they delivered a letter for Horsham MP Jeremy Quin.

Speeches raising awareness of climate and environmental issues were also made at Shelley Fountain and at Parkside, offices of West Sussex Couinty Council and Horsham District Council, where another letter was posted.

Among several groups represented at the march were the Peace Party, Transition Horsham, and CAGNE (Communities Against Noise and Emissions), with chairman Sally Pavey who is leading the campaign against a second runway at Gatwick.

The Horsham Climate March was one of several held this weekend across the countryfor those people unable to attend the main one in London.
