Farm Diary by Gwyn Jones

Growth is rampant as the temperatures climb. The oak trees are fully in leaf and cow parsley is like a forest on either side of our drive.

Grass is at its best, with sugar levels lifted by the sunshine, and weather permitting we will be silage making by the end of the week.

The ground is very dry, which suits us on the clay, but rain is on its way I am told. We have finished drilling all our maize and it is up at Tillington already, benefiting from the warm soil conditions and the sunshine. It will be glad of a drink just to keep it going.
