Consumer Food Hypocrisy- Farm Diary by Gwyn Jones

The bitterly cold weather continues, with little sign of spring in the air. The ground is very dry, the cold wind pulling the moisture out and there are occasional snowflakes to boot!

Tillington is green but there is little growth, whereas Plaistow is nice and dry but the grass I carried over winter in preparation for the spring has turned white.

I am still holding off on the nitrogen fertiliser for the time being on clay, but we will need to act soon, in anticipation of spring suddenly arriving.

Meanwhile we are now sub-soiling and ploughing the maize ground at Hascome, which should mean we are well ahead in some areas.
