Emergency services called to rescue 'trapped' child in Chichester

Firefighters rescued a small child from a car in Chichester this afternoon (Tuesday).

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said one crew was sent to a 'trapped' child in West Street just after 1pm.

A spokesman said: "A crew from Chichester Fire Station was called to reports of a small child locked in a car.

"The child was released from the car within ten minutes of the call coming in, and was safe and well."
