A dog walker got a shock at Chichester Harbour today - when he found a giant jellyfish washed up.
Guy Michelmore from West Wittering was walking his dogs along Chichester Harbour this afternoon (July 5), when he found the huge jellyfish.
He placed a 50p piece on top of the jellyfish to show the scale of it.
Guy said he found it washed up near Rookwood in Chichester Harbour.
“It was the largest jellyfish I’ve seen around here,” he said.
“Just after lunch I was walking the dogs by the side of Chichester harbour.
“While throwing sticks for them on the beach in between Rookwood and Itchenor I saw this enormous translucent blob washed up on the beach.
“It became apparent pretty quickly it was a jellyfish with huge thick tentacles hanging underneath.
“It was vast.
“I’m just glad I didn’t meet it while taking a dip in harbour.”
