Dispelling foster myths

AS the south east faces a shortage of foster carers, Action for Children aims to dispel myths about fostering.

Research showed people believe over-55s, singles and men can’t foster.

Drop-in events are regularly held in Shoreham Library to answer any questions.

A West Sussex County Council spokesperson said: “We welcome applications from anyone who may be interested in caring for a child or young person through a fostering placement, regardless of their gender, age, sexuality, race or background.”
