Delays after three vehicle collision on A24 near Ashington

EARLY morning fog may have been the cause of a three vehicle collision on the A24 near Ashington this morning, police say (Tuesday, April 1).

Delays are being experienced as a result of the collision, which occurred at 8am this morning.

The incident has blocked the southbound carriageway and police, fire and ambulance crews are on the scene, with firefighters requested to cut one passenger free.

Earlier, at 6.24am, a collision on the B2139 Coolham Road juntion with the B2133 Harbolets Road, near Pulborough, also caused delays.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service also attended to free a woman from her car after she suffered suspected neck and abdominal injuries. Part of the road was blocked while the incident was dealt with.
