Woman attacked while walking dog in Storrington

Police are trying to identify a man who punched a female dog walker in the chest in Storrington.

The incident happened at about 11.15am on Monday (10 December) whilst the victim walked her pet on its lead at Sullington Warren.

A man approached her with a golden retriever, which was not on a lead, and the two dogs started barking at each other. At this point, the man kicked the victim’s dog twice and then punched her to the chest as he shouted and swore at her.

A police spokesperson said: “The offender is described as white, approximately 5t 6in tall, of stocky build, in his mid 40s, with very short dark hair and dark coloured eyes. He was wearing dark green/brown combat clothing, was carrying a rucksack on his back and was wearing earphones.

“If anyone recognises this man or has any information regarding this incident then please contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 277 11/12.”
