Teenagers threatened with knife and robbed

THREE teenagers were subjected to a knifepoint robbery in Southwick at about 8pm on Wednesday (March 14) evening.

The young men, who are all aged between 14 and 15, were approached by four youths at Southwick Recreation Ground in Old Barn Way.

One of the offenders was reported to have produced a knife and demanded property.

The victims handed over two mobile phones and an iPod.

A police spokesperson said: “The offenders were all male and aged between 16 and 18. This was obviously a frightening ordeal for the three victims and we’re anxious to hear from anyone who either witnessed what happened or who has information about the crime to come forward.

“Officers are following up a number of lines of enquiry and will continue to do everything possible to identify the four youths responsible and bring them to justice.”

The offenders are described as:

(1) White, about 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, with short brown hair wearing dark coloured clothing and red ‘Van’ plimsolls.

(2) White, about 5ft 7in tall, of slim build, wearing dark coloured clothing.

(3) Mixed race, about 5ft 6in tall, of stocky build, with black ‘afro’ hairstyle, wearing dark clothing.

(4) Mixed race, about 5ft 8in tall, of slim build, wearing dark clothing.
