Teenager attacked in Crawley

Following an attack on a teenager in broad daylight, police are looking for witnesses.

The 18-year-old man was attacked in Crawley, on Tuesday, July 31.

The victim was walking along the footpath through Memorial Gardens with another man of a similar age when the assault took place at 4.50pm.

He sustained injuries to his mouth and nose.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 quoting serial 1260 of 31/7. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A 20-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of assault and theft of a mobile phone. He was questioned and bailed until Monday, August 20.
