Teenager assaulted in Worthing

A witness appeal has gone out from police following an assault on a teenager who was attacked on Broadwater Bridge, Worthing, on Monday evening (August 27).

The 17-year-old victim was walking north over the bridge by the footpath which provides access to Bridge Road when the assault took place at 11.45pm.

There is believed to be one suspect.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 30s, 6ft 3in with a stubbly beard.

He was wearing a black hoody with the hood up and white trainers.

The victim was aware that a man was walking behind him.

The suspect grabbed the victim from behind holding him in a headlock and holding something to his neck.

The victim managed to get free with no injuries.
