Teenager assaulted in Chichester

POLICE are appealing for information following a common assault on a 13-year-old local girl in Florence Park, Chichester on Tuesday (April 24).

The teenage girl was in the park on her own at around 9pm when she reports that she was approached by a man near the public toilets who grabbed her arm and briefly spoke to her before she ran away from him.

Sergeant Alan Fenn from Chichester Neighbourhood Police Team said: “This was a distressing experience for the young girl and fortunately she did not come to any further harm.

“It appears to be an isolated incident but none-the-less officers are continuing with house-to-house enquiries and have been patrolling the park area.

The suspect is described as tall and was wearing a dark hoody, white trainers and spoke with a local accent.
