Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was assaulted by another boy in a park in Bognor Regis.
The 19-year-old victim was climbing a tree in West Park, in Silverstone Avenue, on Tuesday August 21 when he told a group of boys who were bullying some younger children to stop it.
One of the boys in the older group then called him names, walked up to him and punched him in the left side of the head and ran off.
The victim did not tell his mum until the following day when he started to feel pain in his upper jaw.
She took him to the doctor and he was then sent to St Richard’s Hospital at Chichester where it was discovered he had suffered a fracture of his jaw. The incident was then reported to police on Friday August 24.
The suspect is described as a boy aged between 10 and 12, with spikey blond hair, bright blue eyes with a mole under the right side of his lip.
He spoke in a high pitched voice. He was wearing a blue football top, skinny jeans, white trainers with laces and a red tick on the side and a red and black wristband.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in the evening of Tuesday 21 August to ring Sussex Police on 101 quoting 0797 of 24/8.
