Sussex Police has released a Efit of a man seen near a property which was burgled in Sunnymead, West Green, on April 3.
A witness saw the man in the area at around 4pm and then leave at high speed in a Mercedes car which was found to be using false number places.
The burglary is also being connected to another in Argus Walk, Bewbush, between 10.30m on April 2 and 4pm on April 3.
The incidents are being linked with a sighting of another suspicious man in St Francis Walk, Bewbush, at 6pm on Monday April 8.
He was driving a high-value Audi which was also found to be on false registration plates.
When a witness challenged the man he drove off.
Detective Sergeant Graham Leaney said: “We are urging members of the public to remain vigilant and call police if they see any cars or people who appear suspicious or out of place.
“We know that previous incidents of burglaries in and around Crawley have involved the use of high-value Audi, Mercedes and BMW cars on false plates.
“If you recognise this man please contact police on 101 quoting serial 1011 of 3/4.
“Any sightings of people apparently replacing the registrations plates on cars should be treated as particularly suspicious and reported as a matter of urgency.
“As is shown in these recent incidents, it is with the public’s help we can use this valuable information.
“Please alway report to police on 101. Information may also be given to anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
