“During the journey the man inappropriately touched the girl, before she left the service at Dorking station. We believe the man stayed on the train until Clapham Junction.”

Officers are today releasing images of a man they want to speak to, as they believe he has key information about what took place.

DC Parkinson added: “We do not tolerate unwanted sexual behaviour of any kind on the transport network and take all reports seriously.

“If you recognise this man, or have any information that could help our investigation, please contact us.”
