Man injured in Cowfold crash dies

A man who was injured when his car left the road in Cowfold has died ten days after the incident.

The 74-year old from Partridge Green was injured when his red Ford Ka left the road in Henfield Road, Cowfold, at the junction with the A272 and overturned, at 9.40am on Friday March 15.

Nobody else was in the car.

The injured man remained conscious and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with chest injuries, but his condition deteriorated and he died in hospital on Monday (March 25).

PC Douglas Park, of the Sussex Road Policing Unit, said; “There is no evidence that any other vehicle was involved but if anyone saw what happened we would be grateful if they could call us on 101 quoting Operation Radius.

Police are currently tracing the dead man’s next of kin.
