A MAN was hit on the head in an attack in East Grinstead yesterday (Tuesday April 24).
At about 8.15am, the 30-year old local man was visiting a house in Yew Lane, off London Road.
As he went into the garage he was hit on the head with an object of some kind, by an intruder and fell unconscious to the floor.
When he came to moments later the intruder had disappeared.
He was treated for the injury at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.
Nothing was stolen but officers consider it likely that theft was the motive.
The suspect is described as white, about 6ft tall, of slight build, and wearing a black balaclava-type mask, a green jumper, and blue jeans.
Detective Constable Celia Macdonald said; “I am asking anyone who was in the area at around 8 to 8.30 on Tuesday morning, and who saw any suspcious activity, to contact us via 101 quoting serial 0201 of 24/4. You can also call independent charity Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.”
