Knife robber punched on nose by his victim

A KNIFE-point robbery was thwarted after the victim punched his assailant hard in the nose causing him to run away.

The victim was walking on Drake Road, Tilgate, late at night when he noticed a man walking near to him who told him to hand over his wallet.

The robber was said to be ‘foaming at the mouth’ and holding a black-handled knife with a four-inch blade.

The victim responded by punching him hard in the nose and cheek causing the robber to stumble before running away on Saturday night (September 8).

He was described as a white man, of stocky build, with an English accent, wearing a black jacket and dark trousers.
