Horsham homeowners threatened and burgled

A father and son awoke to find four men in their Horsham home in the very early hours of Tuesday 24 April.

The victims, aged 41 and 19, who live in Station Road, were confronted by the burglars at around 1.30am and were verbally threatened whilst the suspects searched their home before making off with £400 in cash and a pink Sony Ericcson mobile phone.

The burglars made their escape in a small dark coloured saloon car, possibly an Audi A3 and were seen driving along Station Road, towards the train station, with the boot open.

Detective Constable John Hord from West Sussex CID said: “Burglaries of this nature are very traumatising for the victims and the father and son in this incident are still coming to terms with the shock of being threatened and robbed in their own home. Fortunately neither of them were physically injured.

“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in or around Station Road on Tuesday afternoon and saw four white men hanging out together. They are described as between 19 to 30, approx 5’ 10” and were all wearing hooded tops.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who saw the dark saloon car parked near the One Stop Convenience store around the time of the burglary or when it was travelling along Station Road with the boot open. Please call 101 quoting serial 0736 of 24/4 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
