Car vandalised outsdie Burgess Hill house

A car was vandalised in Burgess Hill during the evening of Saturday (July 7).

A woman left her blue three-door Peugeot 207 parked outside her house in Woodland Avenue at around 6pm and went out for the evening.

On returning home at about 1.30am on the Sunday morning she discovered that the wing mirrors had been ripped off, and the rear window and rear passengers windows had been smashed, causing damage estimated about £1,000.

A group of young men had been seen by a witness to be standing close to the car earlier in the evening.

One is described as being white, 18 to 22 years old, 5ft 11in - 6ft 1in, of average build, with short blond hair, and wearing a dark blue t-shirt with white stripes and jeans. He was also carrying a large piece of wood.

PC Russell Watson said; “We have not established the motive for this nasty incident, and we are asking anyone who was in the area rhat evening and saw anything suspicious, or who has any other information, to contact us via 101 quoting serial 0131 of 8/7.
