A police spokesperson said: “During the warm weather it is easy to leave a small window open and think it will be ok but we urge people to always lock doors and windows when they are out, no matter how short a period it is for.

“If anyone saw anything suspicious in the relevant areas on Thursday then we would ask them to call police on 101 quoting serials 1097 or 1565 of 29/08, or email [email protected].”
