Attempted robbery at Rustington

A man tried to grab a woman’s bag in Woodlands Avenue, Rustington, on Friday 28 December at 7.30pm.

The 21-year-old victim was unhurt but may have injured the suspect’s nose during the struggle.

He was unsuccessful in his attempt to snatch her shoulder bag and made off.

The suspect is described as white, aged about 21, 5ft 10in, of slim build with broad shoulders.

He has brown hair worn in a messy style and a stubble style goatee from his lip down and on his chin but is clean shaven on his upper lip and cheeks.

He was wearing a white round necked short sleeved t-shirt with the words ‘BENCH’ across the middle of his chest which was written in baby blue colour and had building shadows behind the writing. He was also wearing light blue straight cut jeans.

Detective Sergeant Chris Leech said: “The victim was shaken but unharmed. If you have any information or recognise the description of the suspect, call 101 quoting reference 1299 of 28/12.”
