Appeal after man assaulted in Chichester

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a 35-year-old local in Portfield Way, Chichester, on Sunday June 3.

The victim was walking through Portfield Retail Park when he was threatened and attacked by a man, who is known to him, at around around 4.10pm.

PC Trevor Burton from Chichester Response Investigation Unit said: “We are investigating the circumstances that led up to this incident, which appears to have been an unprovoked attack during the day in a busy retail park.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault or saw a man get out of a white Ford Transit van, to please call 101 quoting serial 1122 of 3/6 or the the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
